Funnels

See exactly where visitors drop off.

Define a multi-step flow (product page, cart, checkout, thank-you page) and we show how many reach each step and where the drop-off happens. Visitor-based (the same visitor can finish across several sessions within 24 hours). Cookie-free, EU-hosted.

Who uses this?

Three concrete scenarios from real customers. No generic "for marketers" filler.

Web shop

Flow: /products → /product/X → /cart → /checkout → /thank-you. 412 start, 49 finish. You see right away that the loss sits at /checkout (88% drop there). Add a trust badge, measure again.

SaaS signup

Flow: /pricing → /signup → /verify-email → /dashboard. A big drop at /verify-email? The email might be landing in spam. A drop at /dashboard? The onboarding is confusing.

Lead gen form

Flow: /service → /contact → /thank-you. Plenty look at /service, few fill in /contact. Either the pricing page is missing or the form is off-putting. Measure, change, measure again.

How it works

01

Create a funnel

Settings → Funnels → Create new. Between 2 and 8 steps, each step matching a pageview on an exact path. Give every step a readable name ("Added to cart" is better than "/cart").

02

We count within 24 hours

A visitor who starts at step 1 is counted into a step if they reach it within 24 hours, even if they close the tab and come back. Visitor-based (cookie-free visitor hash) means the same person is not counted twice.

03

Drop-off per step

Each step shows an absolute count + percentage of step 1. Between the steps you see the drop-off arrow (for example "-59% · 261 visitors fell off here"). The last step gets an emerald border when the final conversion is 50% or higher.

What you get

  • Between 2 and 8 steps per funnel
  • Unlimited funnels per site
  • Visitor-based (not session-based), works across several visits
  • 24-hour conversion window
  • Path matching with an exact path or a glob pattern (/product/*)
  • Drop-off arrows between steps with absolute + percentage loss
  • Final-conversion badge when 50% or more reach the last step
  • Date-range picker (24h / 7d / 30d / 90d / custom)
  • Show funnels in the weekly report + the PDF monthly report (Pro)

You own 100% of your data.

No Google, no AdTech, no retargeting pixels, no "business partners" making money off your visitors in the background. Just you and Spårlös.

No third parties watching

We have no business partners in the data path. No ad pixels, no affiliate trackers, no "analytics-on-analytics" services.

We never sell your data

Frequently asked questions

How does it differ from goals?+

A goal is a single URL. You mark /thank-you as a goal and get a number of conversions. A funnel is 2 to 8 connected steps where you see where people drop off along the way. Goals answer "how many convert?", funnels answer "WHERE do we lose them?".

What counts as a step?+

A pageview on a specific path. Spårlös is a pageview-based product. We have no custom events (deliberately, to keep the tracker under 1.5 KB and the data model readable). If you need to measure something that is not a pageview (for example a button click), solve it with a redirect page or a thank-you page.

Is a visitor who starts step 1 and comes back the next day counted?+

Within 24 hours: yes, the same visitor. After 24 hours: counted as a new visitor. This is the industry standard for funnel analysis.

Can I have steps that match dynamic URLs?+

Yes. /product/* matches /product/icecream, /product/kitchenware and so on. /checkout matches only the exact /checkout. Glob patterns work with both * (one segment) and ** (any depth).

Is the conversion data anonymous?+

Yes. The visitor hash is cookie-free and rotates daily, so we cannot tie a conversion to a specific person. We know that N visitor hashes completed the flow. No personal ID numbers, no IP addresses.

Which plan is it included in?+

Every plan, including Hobby (free). All analytics features are free. The plans differ in the history window your funnels are computed over: 7 days on Hobby, 90 days on Starter, 12 months on Pro.

Do the funnel views affect the tracker on the site?+

No. Funnels are computed server-side from existing pageview data. The tracker on your site is the same 1.4 KB script whether you have 0 or 50 funnels defined.
